Translation

Translation is the rendering of something into another language or into one's own from another language.

Just kidding.

In biology, translation is the process by which mRNA and tRNA work together in the ribosome to make proteins.

  1. Initiation- The mRNA binds to a ribosome's subunit
  2. Elongation- A polypeptide chain is formed based on the mRNA and tRNA strands.
  3. Termination- When the stop codon is reached, a release factor frees the polypeptide and dissociates the ribosome.
